Hyperthermia, the anti-virus COVID-19 weapon? - Section 1

In: Hyperthermia & Sybaritic On:

Viruses , such as SAR-CoV-2, are heat-sensitive, and are destroyed by temperatures tolerable to humans.

All mammals use the natural benefits of fever to treat infections, and heat has been used throughout human history in the form of hot springs, such as saunas, steam rooms, sweat chambers, inhalations of hot vapours, hot muds, and poultices to prevent and treat respiratory tract, or lung infections, and improve general health.

This article summarizes the main scientific evidence that highlights the use of hyperthermic heat to treat and prevent viral infections. It also discusses the mechanisms involved at the cellular, physiological, immune and psychological levels, which explain this approach to combating viruses, including COVID-19.

Step 1:

In the initial phase of viral infection, heat applied to the upper respiratory tract may represent a first line of defense for the immune system ; this by supporting mucociliary clearance, and by inhibiting or deactivating the virions from their first attachment points.

This defense can be further reinforced at this stage by inhaling hot vapors impregnated with essential oils with antiviral properties (HE of Ravintsara, Ceylon Cinnamon, Lemon, Radiated Eucalyptus, Clove, Noble Laurel, etc.) , mucolytics (Niaouli, Radiated Eucalyptus, Inula, Lying Myssop, etc...) and anxiolytics (Ylang Ylang, Roman Chamomile, Bitter Orange, fine Lavender...).

2nd step:

Heat applied to the whole body can further support the immune system's second line of defense , stimulating thermoregulation that will produce the equivalent of a fever.

This process naturally activates the immune system and sets up a set of mechanisms that will strengthen the metabolism.

These heat treatments also provide psychological benefits, relaxation and related mental well-being, and positive thinking.

Heat is a good practical means, financially accessible to everyone, to undertake preventive action and treatment if necessary, while respecting the framework of practice linked to it according to the host establishments.

For the time being, no clinical and medical protocol including heat to treat COVID-19 exists to fight this virus on a larger scale.

However protocols, which are inspired by traditional practices using heat and hyperthermia, are emerging to create a framework that will take into account:

- contraindications,

- side effects,

- infection control and monitoring measures

Vaccines and drugs gravitating in the microcosm of potential remedies against this type of virus are the most likely to find a rapid and favorable echo with medical institutions and governments to curb the current pandemic.

However, a mixed therapeutic approach - integrating hyperthermia as a means of treatment and prevention - could see a conjunction of resources being set up and which would integrate natural medicine, conventional medicine, and traditional well-being practices.
